After a day of working many people are usually too tired with making a healthy dinner, so will eat lots of whatever is fast and easily accessible – and in turn, overeat it.
But don’t worry, here are a few easy steps and habits to create, to help you not overeat these foods. πͺ
1 – Drink more water π§ π¦π§ π¦π§ π¦π§ π¦π§ π¦π§
Usually when we feel hungry, we are actually thirsty – it is an easy mistake π Next time you feel hungry, drink a full glass of water, then wait about 10-15 minutes. If you were thirsty you will no longer feel hungry, if you were actually hungry then you still will be hungry and your stomach will let you know π
2 – Mindful eating (Eat slowly π and consciously) π½β
Having your meal at the table with no distractions from the tv or smartphone will allow you and your brain to see the amount of food you are consuming. π§ββπ§ββSlowing eating it will also give your body time to allow the appropriate hormones from your belly to go up to your brain to tell it that you are full. So make sure you savor every mouthful, chew well and enjoy your food π§ββπ§ββ
3 – Throw some Vegetables full of fiber on your plate π₯π₯¬π₯¦π₯π₯π₯
Dark green vegetables like spinach, broccoli, kale, zucchini, are not only full of wonderful nutrients, but also fiber. Add some salad π₯. Fiber helps to keep you fuller for longer as it takes your body a longer time to break them down. This fiber also helps if it takes you a while to “go” while sitting on the “throan” π½π§»
4 – Include some protein the size of your palm (without fingers) π£π₯π₯©πππ§π₯
Many people forget this one, protein is not only very important for the body to repair damaged cells, organs and muscle, but it also helps to keep you feeling fuller for longer. π€π³
